Michéal Castaldo releases Next Italian digi single, “Baila Morena”

Michéal Castaldo releases “Baila Morena,” a HD digital single on Vital Records on July 21, to celebrate the 18th anniversary of when the original song by the Italian artist "Zucchero" went to #1 on the Italian charts. Recorded and performed by Castaldo in Italian, the digital single is available via streaming only on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Prime Music Unlimited, and other digital music streaming websites everywhere.

Castaldo gave the song his own fingerprint with a Reggaeton beat with Flamenco guitar licks. He produced it with Jon Gordon (Suzanne Vega, Madonna), who co-produced a few of Castaldo’s singles, including “Everything Happens For a Reason,” and “Dove Non So.” The music for “BAILA MORENA” was originally written by ADELMO FORNACIARI, ROBERTO ZANETTI, and SARAH EDEN DAVIS.

Castaldo, an Italian born tenor, producer, and songwriter who sings in the style of Andrea Bocelli and beyond, is honoring this famous song because of the connection between it's original release in 2001 when he happened to be rebuilding his family villa in Calabria Italy ( and the joy it has given him over the years. The original artist Zucchero sings many of his songs in Italian and includes some English phrases, thus helping several generations of Italians learn English. Michéal hopes to return the favor with Baila Morena's explosive chorus. Michéal’s rendition features Sig. Francesco Grant Energipsy on Flamenco Guitars (has worked with the Gypsy Kings) and Flamenco singer Alfonso Cid (has worked with Romeo Santos). The track was recorded in five different countries (Italy, Spain, Poland, Canada and USA).
