New York, NY—International Italian tenor Michéal Castaldo will perform at the 92 Annual Feast of the Three Saints in Lawrence, Massachusetts, which takes place every Labor Day Weekend. Castaldo will perform on the Bandstand stage at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, which is opening night of this three-day event. The feast is a celebration of the Italian-American heritage that draws close to 75,000 visitors. Common Street from Union Street to Jackson Street will be bustling with people having fun, wonderful music, and delicious food.
Michéal Castaldo, an award-winning classical crossover singer, songwriter, and producer, is the living embodiment of authentic Italian culture. A native of Calabria in the “tip of the toe” of Italy, he is an accomplished classical crossover singer of his native songs. He always sings a beautiful selection of familiar Italian classics like “O’ Sole Mio,” “Il Mondo,” “Ave Maria,” and “Brucia la Terra (Parla Piu Piano - Godfather Theme),” along with some pop hits, such as “L'arcobaleno (Over the Rainbow),” “Senza Catene (Unchained Melody),” and “Preghero’ (Stand By Me),” in Italian.
Organized by the Saints Alfio, Filadelfo & Cirino Society, the annual feast honors three young brothers from southern Italy who were martyred for their Christian faith. Saints Alfio, Cirino, and Filadelfo were tortured to death in the third century after refusing to renounce Jesus Christ. A mass in honor of the saints and a procession of their statues travels through the feast neighborhood on Sunday. Other activities throughout the weekend include an opening procession, a 5K race, silent auction, children’s rides and games, a cannoli-eating contest, and entertainment each night. Parking and entertainment are free.
